In this Trustees week it is important to recognise those people who give of their time and knowledge. One such person was Sue Knowles who has been a trustee of Community Matters Yorkshire almost form the beginning. Sue was  a terrific support to all of the team at Community Matters providing solid advice and guidance as well as that important role of a sounding board when needed. Sue always considered that she had no skills to bring to a Trustee Board she was not an expert in the delivery of our services but what she bought to the role was an enquiring mind and a willingness to learn as well as an ability to constructively challenge staff to ensure we were the best we could be.

So with this in Mind, it was a great shock and a lot of sadness that we learnt this morning that she had passed away yesterday. She will leave a hole in many people’s lives but they have all been enriched for the fun and love of life that she bought to everybody who knew her.

Our Vision

The Community Matters vision is to provide a sustainable and effective "hub" of learning, support, advice and guidance, enabling local communities and organisations to grow and achieve through the provision of a high quality service.

We do this in a number of ways through our various projects which at the moment concentrate on working with children, young people and families. But not exclusively. We are able to provide training, learning opportunities and business related advice, guidance and information to individuals and organisations.
